This video was made to explain how to mount a GWS 5x3 or 5x4.3 prop on a Park Zone Sukhoi-26M using a GWS rubber spinner part number GW/SPN001. It also explains how to use Radical RC's ply cylinders instead of using the spinner. I also cover other topics that might be helpful to anyone purchasing the Park Zone Sukhoi-26M. The major advantage to changing props from the stock prop that comes with the Sukhoi to the GWS props is improved performance.

  • thanks , i have smashed my motor mount off what can i glue it with? regards bob

  • @machinedred Test fit your parts and apply a minimal amount of 5 minute epoxy or foam safe CA/gap filler taking care not to get glue on the moving parts. Foam safe CA is expensive. There are other glues that would work but I use those two frequently.

  • hi , fantastic video ! i have learnt a lot from it , i would like to paint my plane exactly like yours if that is ok ? you said you use ink ?? what type of ink and how do i apply it? also is there any danger of melting the esc by using a more powerful battery and prop ? regards bob

  • @machinedred , Thanks for the nice comments. What is surprising is that with the 5 x 4.3 prop and the larger battery the current diminishes. The motor and ESC should run cooler. You're welcome to use the color scheme. An unsanded surface will yield a glossier finish. I did mine with Copic ink pens sprayed with a Copic spray applicator. That is pretty pricey. Testers Spray enamel or Tamiya spray cans applied in light coats should work fine. Test on scrap foam. I masked with 3M blue 7 day tape.

  • Just completed this mod with the GWS 5x4.3 after learning about it on this video. It is a fantastic improvement from stock and so easy with this instruction. Can't wait to add a bigger battery soon as well and a little weight aft really helps too!! THANKS SO MUCH!! for the awesome info.

  • @KAH5157 , Glad it was of help.

  • Grand Wing Servo planes are awesome. Horizon Hobbies lost my business years ago....

  • I also added the motor from the Blade Msr..The motor fits into the stock Sukhoi gearbox and It will now pull loop after loop...

  • Very good briefing and hints. Thank you.

  • @Eugensdiet So for by battery upgrade I am now using 2 160 mah cells run in parallel for I presume 320 mah total. At or near full throttel provides 15 mins of flight time which I find amazing. The 5x4.3 prop is a perfect match for the micro SU26!!
