This is my current pedalboard. I built this thing on versatility, as what I need as a Lead player at church. Sometimes I rock it, sometimes I'm just there in the background.... So for either straight rock sounds or sweet, sweet ambiance, this rig gives it to me.

The discussion for this vid is found on my blog at:

  • good video, have watched it several times and has been useful, everyone has its own approach and yours is ok. A bit intrigued you don't use flanger, chorus or phaser (the tremolo comes near the phaser in some settings though) . I love the old phaser-rotating sounds so i wouldn't do it without these. Greetings and keep the faith & good work

  • @rockethead555 I have a phaser I use from time to time, but typically don't find it fits my role in the band much. Excellent effect, great for "filler" sounds in slow songs :)

  • You don't layer the distortions? it would save some tap dancing

  • I use the Zen 80% of the time and vary the depth of distortion by using only the guitar's volume knob. The OCD is for heavier more aggressive sounds and works the same way, set to a volume/gain that I like with the guitar's volume knob at max, and then roll back the volume for a rhythm tone. If I need an all out lead tone then I stack the two.

The muff is only for volume swells.

It works easy enough Live :)

  • Is that a Lyt pedal board?

  • Why yes. Yes it is. I love it, easy to place, 'light' and the second tier comes in handy.

  • @TheDownAndOutKS It is pretty decent-- lots of decent stuff in there. I'm pretty sure the EHX will have more "depth" in its "feel", but the Verbzilla is excellent for what it does, the cost and the size.

  • I love the laidback-style you handle your pedals. It clearly means you know what they do and what you need for different situations. Solid performance and informative discussion/monologue. Well done! At least helped me and I learned something new yet again.

  • bless you. haha i play at my church too and i built a pedal board that looks almost just like yours but a little longer. im likin it man!
