@Yapiej Having strong muscles is of course, important, but to be a fast swimmer you should focus on form , technique, and eliminating drag.

@pameladizon19 I dream of winning it! I ran my first marathon last year at the age of 21. I ran it on 2 hours and 58 min. I figure that 10 years from now I might have a shot at it!

@Yapiej You should join a triathlon club! The fees aren't very big especially when you're under 18. You will get a lot of tips and good advice!

@Yapiej All the elites in this sport lifts weights as well as run, bike and swim. However they do those three things a lot more often than weight lifting.

Lifting weights doesn't help your run or bike, You'll gain muscle doing all three disciplines. To become a better swimmer, you need to swim. To become a better runner, you need to run. To become a better cyclist you need to go on rides. If your trying to become a better Triathlete, then stop trying to become a better bench presser or dead lifter or arm curler.
