I am torn between the Kindle or Kobo reader. I like the Kindle more but I am a little turned off by the propriatary nature of the device but the Kobo feels a little to generic...

Very good point on the price of ebooks. However, in reality the magazines and newspapers are not much cheaper at all and sometimes lack the full content of the print versions. This is very upsetting, especially when you can just go to the web site of the respective paper/mag and subscribe for even less than the ebook price AND get more content. Publishers are just raping the ebook crowd now...
I really hope they dont go touchscreen, in fact I hope nobody every goes touchscreen agai. You just get a bunch of fingerprints, I def dont want that for an ebook. Also, I just think its a lot easier to type with buttons.

Touchscreen would just lower the quality of the text. Like, the Sony PRS-700 the screen has a haze to it, and it glares in sunlight, because of the touchscreen. Sure better navigation would be nice, but no touchscreen.
