Inspired by different cultures, making their homes with materials found in their surroundings, Wijskamp wanted to design her own building material. Experimenting with the re-usage of wastepaper resulted in a material with its own characteristic appearance and structure. Besides this, it is a very versatile material with many possible applications. In contrast with the cabinets, the paperpulp tableware items are very fragile decoration objects.

  • creative, but not beautiful. I love the concept, but I think it could be made gorgeous and with more economy.

  • Hi @EngineerMK2004 sorry for my late reaction,

This cabinet started as a proof of concept, that big cabinets can be made from only paper, with no other (hidden) supporting or constructional materials added. Design wise its a matter of taste, this is what i liked at that moment, and still do by the way. I love the way the simplicity of the cabinet makes the added books or pots look in combination.

  • cool!

which is that grey material you use at 0:50 to fit the holes between the blocks?

    thx!

  • Hi @1111supermario

It is also Paperpulp, with a special biodegradable binder!

  • @STUDIOTHIJS what binder did you use? Did you just use a standard paperpulp recipe? I'm looking for a relatively cheap way to make furniture as an artist I'm trying to spend less money on things like furniture and make it by hand. I love your work and personally think the cabinet is beautiful. :)

  • @VerschiedenesArts

Hi, than you for liking my work!

The recipe is not the standard you can find on the internet, it is a special binding (not very cheap) especially developed. I am also going to keep the recipe to myself, so sorry for that. I would love to see your creations though.
