A Lonely Dance - Poem by Astameth (Recited version)

This is the first time for me to actually recite one of my own poems.. ^^

The poem being recited:


A Lonely Dance -

Amidst smoking, black ruins,
We slowly are floating -
Dancing through the night.
Your eyes - being avert,
You are weeping over him -
Whom I despise so much.

Underneath the stars,
We slowly move around;
Onward, sideward, backward -
As long as I am with you,
Gazing into your eyes.
Your eyes that I love -
I fell in love with you,
So many years ago, it hurts.

We slowly waltz through the night,
Underneath a shower of ashes.
Ashes of your beautiful world,
That died alongside that man -
Tell me, did he ever look at you?
He never even cared for you!

I beg you, start looking at me -
I have loved you this whole time.
These ashes are feathers for me,
Feathers that I plucked off an angel -
Flattening the path for our love!
Why won't you even look at me?
Is it because we are like sisters?

We slowly dance through the snow -
A snow of feathers - or ashes?
Time slows down for each of us;
Your sorrow prolongs your time,
While my happiness prolongs mine.
We continue to dance another night -
Both being lonely on our own.
