With a disappointing, already-guaranteed 3rd place position in the regular KAIAC Conference for the 2009-2010 season, the Yongsan International Guardians had only two more games to call "preparation" before their biggest and final objective of the season - to win the KAIAC Tournament title for the first time in ICS/YISS history. The last time the Guardians faced the Korea International Phoenixes, they won on a margin of 3-1, but this did not excuse the Guardians to in any way take this game comfortably. The Guardians had learned early in the season that anything could happen - Osan Cougars had beaten them 2-1 away, Seoul American Falcons had also won on a narrow margin of 1-0.
Though Jonathan Park, the Guardians' regular right winger, was on a one-game suspension due to a red card in the previous tie against SFS 1-1, the Guardians found no trouble putting the ball in the back of the net. David Kim (DK) scored his very first corner-kick goal, Ethan Cha, freshmen, scored his very first career goal for the Guardians, etc.
Goals scored:
1. Jamie Ha
2. David Kim (DK) - assist: Jimmy Kim
3. David Kim (DK)
4. Ethan Cha - assist: Roland Umoru
5. Jamie Ha - assist: Sam Ban
