Adoptee Rights Demonstration - Join us July 21, 2009 at the Annual Summit for the National Conference of State Legislators for the Philadelphia Adoptee Rights Protest.

The National Conference of State Legislatures is the largest group of its kind, the national organization of STATE LAWMAKERS, the people who DECIDE whether you may access your original birth certificates OR NOT.

We propose a gathering of adoptees and all supporters of the rights of adoptees to unrestricted access to their own records of birth, representing all fifty states, a one-day rally that will be an opportunity for adoptees to demonstrate their commitment to adoptee rights and to meet their state delegation.

As a surrendering mother, my only fear is that if she got her original birth certificate, and found me, that she would be disapointed in me because every since i gave her up i have fought with depression and greif .........it has had a negative effect on me and my life... plus i am so ashamed

Wish I could be there but I live in Indy. I have a spouse born in Philly though and it angers me so much that he can't have his original birth certificate! You'd think the city with a history of independence and freedom would not deliberately deny the right for someone to know their identiy but.......

Here I am 63 years old born in Philly 1/25/1946 and I am still without a copy of my original birth certificate. I live in Missouri, cannot show up but I sure want to be informed. We deserve to have our original birth certificate.
