RIP Niles October 2003 to November 2011

Sadly last night Nile the Maine Coon passed away. He developed a blood disorder which caused a sever case of anemia. Earlier in the week he was his normal self, jumping off the walls and demanding pats. On Tuesday night he decided to start sleeping in the wardrobe and the next day he stopped eating and drinking. By Friday night he was half his weight and one of his teeth had fallen out. I took him to the emergency animal hospital right away but sadly the treatment they would give him to keep him alive until further tests could be done would have caused him to suffer terribly so I had to make the heart breaking decision to have him put to sleep.
Even though Niles was very sick he kept it hidden, purring and happy right to the end.
