Four Dead After Israeli Helicopter Crash

A civilian helicopter crashed off the Israeli coast on Tuesday, killing its pilot and three passengers.

The crash occurred off the shore of the city of Netanya, north of Tel Aviv.

Witnesses watched in horror as the aircraft descended.

[Witness]:
"We heard a strange noise coming out of the propeller. My friend mentioned this, and then it continued flying for an additional 100-200 meters and suddenly we spotted the rotor of the helicopter disengage from it, and the helicopter fell straight into the water."

Police say life guards on the beach recovered two bodies.

[Amichai Eshed, Netanya Police Commander]:
"In a combined operation of police, the Israeli army and life guards that were in the area, two additional bodies were taken out. All in all four bodies were drawn. It's probably a tragic accident.

The bodies have been transported to a pathological institution. Investigations continue.
