Jazz with some Afro Cuban licks by jazz pianist Mary Lou Williams. In terms of injecting spirtuality into music without words, she was second only to Coltrane. This one is off her 1974 Zoning album. Enjoy.

  • I know someone currently making a documentary about Mary Lou Williams. She is getting known musicians and celebs to be in it. Might be interested in others who knew her, etc. I saw the beginnings of the documentary and it is beautiful.. can't wait for it to be completed.

  • oh that would be cool as hell.

  • I loved jazz since I was 10, why nobody tell me about this beautiful woman. I am pissed.

  • from all acoounts, she was a very spirtual human being besides being immensely talented

  • @coloredopinions She doesn't get the recognition she deserves outside of serious jazz circles, but then few great jazz artists do.

  • @deepkeel65 yeah, and if she came out today she'd barely get any at all. Then record labels ask why is music suffering. (smh)
