I disagree with this rule. To (always) introduce the man first is like saying a man is of higher rank than a woman. Besides, what ever happened to 'Laides first'? I, personally, would just go by age in this situation.

i thought i read in emily posts' book of manners that u introduce the least or less one to the higher rank one regardless of gender? or is that just when ur introducing ur friends among ur other friends?
