@smavydoll I generally string my guitar with that set-up if I know I have a tune to practice that demands it, but you're right...it's not practical, unless you're able to afford a different guitar for unusual tunings....which would be nice!!

For the string issue, I string a 'D' string where the 'A' string would be...that way you're only tuning that string a semitone down from it's designed tension...

@ivorblair04 Cool man, good idea but the part I dont get is....... Do you restring your A every time you play this tune, or do you have an Aerial Boundaries only guitar???
