You don't get it do you? He's not singing pop music, his vocal technique doesn't have to be perfect. Music is about emotion, and whether he has the best voice or not, if he can portray emotion to fans that he sings to, which he obviously does, then technique is obsolete. I don't give a shit about his technical aspect, because as far as I'm concerned (and this is coming from a fellow musician/songwriter) his vocals are absolutely astonishing. If you don't like it, then dont listen.

They wrote the song, they can play it however the hell they want. This isn't American Idol; it's theirs, they own it, they created it, they aren't just singing something someone else did all the work creating.
Actually, this is a kickass performance. Brent might be off an octave or two here and there from the release, but they're acoustic. Most good acoustic sets are played ALOT different then the studio cuts.
