First time I am coming across this hymn on our Aachaaryan. Nice rendition and melodious, unfortunately, unable to understand the meaning.

Jeeyar is Telugu. So are Sree Thyagaraja and Annamayya. Back in those days, I guess it really did not matter. All these great poets and scholars are multilinguistic and were obviously not as divided as we all are these days. On top of that, even though all thyagaraja kritis are in telugu, I think tamil folks follow and know more about thyagaraja than the telugu folks. Just my 2 cents..

in the monastic religious order he is considered as an secular clergy not an orthodox one, quite many of his norm are opposed to the typical monastic practice, his teachings also mingling together with present evolution n environ.. a package that cater the modern world's need. even few of his upanyaasams deviated from the mainstream ( in either case U or Y). i am belongs to tirumalai paramparai..no offence please.. just my own view if were to hurt u i m sorry

Can you explain what do you mean by secular. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji is trying very hard every day of his life to spread the word of Bhagavad Ramanuja. Because of him, lakhs of people in AP and in other states have learned about the real nature of God and came into our Sampradayam. He promotes service activities by saying "Serve all beings as service to God" and promotes peace and harmony in the society by saying "Worship your own and respect all". It doesn't mean he is secular.

@rsbullz Please read correctly what I posted, Sriperumbudur Bashyakarar's Archavathara Thirumeni has been always wearing Thenkalai thirumann, they morphed and posted here, don't you feel that as a sham? Why should we change the original when we accept his teachings are universal. Will you also accept if they morph it to some thiruneeru pattai. You sound so naive or just a Vadakalai fanatic.

@srinathgr: How does it matter what naamam our Bhashyakarar is wearing? The teachings of Sri Ramanuja is universal and beyond petty sampradayic issues. Btw Tenkalai/Vadagalai differences happened post-Ramanuja on trivial theological issues; nothing of great significance that one Sampradayam would be a sham on the other. The only significant difference is the primary use of Vedas and other Sanskrit scriptures by Vadagalai in contrast to Tenkalai (who prefer Nalayiram ).
