This was written by Harry Warren in 1931 and, thirty years later, was a UK hit (#4) for a 1920s-style jazz band called The Temperance Seven. The verse and chorus alternate in different keys. In the original, the verse is in Eb and the chorus in C. For the guitar, it's easier if the verse is in C and the chorus in A!

  • Again a great job- Will! Seems to be a difficult song, lots of diffrent parts, chords and picking. You have to concentrate a lot on this song- you made it. Nice guitar- is it new??

  • @AirMike61 Thanks! The chords are really fairly standard jazz turnarounds. It's the main chorus - in A - that's the tricky bit, because many of the passing chords (as you'll see if you download the sheet from my website) are sharp 7ths. If I'd played the chorus is, say, Bb, then those passing chords would have been easier - but then the verse would have had to be in C#! C'est la vie... :-)

  • Thank you for uploading this tune as well as sharing the tab on your website. I've been searching for some fingerstyle Temp7 tunes to play on the guitar. Could you possibly upload some more such as Vo do Do de O blues (A-minor?), Ain't she sweet, China Boy or Charley My boy by The Temperance 7?
