Part two of a lesson on how to make a disproportionate waste yarn opening. The result is a pouch with one side twice the length of the other - and this allows for a new kind of sock architecture suitable for a Christmas stocking. The stocking has 2 pouches in the instep area, one to hold a gift for Santa and the other a gift for Rudolph. The pattern may be found at knittersreview.com on November 29, 2007.
Thanks so much for that trick with the circular needles (getting gauge with only one set). That totally opened up a world of options for me, since I don't have the cash right now to splurge on a second set. You rock!
