Didn't her older sister die a few weeks or days before this performance? Glad she lost the weight because her voice was becoming weak.

I remember when this first aired. I gotta a kick out of how Aretha 'upstaged' the legends during the big finale (i think it was a supremes' song). While the rest were going back & forth singing the 'someday we'll be together' refrain, the queen, after she feels she's sung enough, walks center stage, bows & exits the stage while the others were still singing. I don't think Aretha meant any harm, but it was still a 'HA!' moment.
