Remove insurance from the health care equation.
All health care should be non-profit.
Insurance companies are totally unnecessary.

Glad to see Rockridge is framing this issue. I'll have to go to their site and get other information on this issue.

Big bucks for bombs, but not for healthcare for all children? Where do the Republicans think healthy soldiers for their wars will come from? New Mexico has one of most uninsured populations of children. We rank 44th in the country because the state gov't won't get on the ball signing kids up. Come on, Guv Richardson: tend to business!

The need for insurance reform does not dictate the need for socialize health care.

The only way insurance companies make money is to refuse care. Why don't some people get this?

We don't need insurance REFORM, we need to ABOLISH the health insurance companies completely. Doctors and other health care PROVIDERS would be independent, paid by the government. YOU choose your doctor, the doctor decides treatment - not socialized medicine at all.

It is not 'socialized' health care. The government will not control Drs, hospitals or nurses. You would still be free to choose. As it is right now the only persons receiving your definition of 'socialized' health care are elected officials. YOU are paying for their health care. Wonder how that matches up w/ your health care.

Needs a next step - after - which would you choose? Don't want to make a choice like this? Then ......
Call your legislators and tell them you want universal health care for kids.

I think it's really powerful. Reminds me of Meryl Streep in Sophie's Choice, and Solomon's offer to the "true" mother to cut the baby in half. Now, it's the most horrible decision to be forced to make, not because we can't afford it, but because profit run insurance companies only "children" are shareholders.
