This is a video of Twisted Metal Black Online (Playstation 2) being played online through Xlink Kai on 11/21/2010. I still suck at this game, but I have a blast playing it.
This multiplayer game of Twisted Metal Black Online was played with a program called Xlink Kai ( http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ ) .It lets you play PS2 games online even once their online servers are taken down. This means that playstation 2 games can be played online forever. The catch is it only works with games with a LAN mode. This is because the program uses a games LAN to trick the game into thinking players across the world are playing on its Local Area Network (LAN).
If you want more information on how Xlink Kai works and how to set it up, please visit their official website ( http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ ) and read the "FAQS" at the top of the page.
************************Important*****************
Make sure you get version 7.3.1.7 of Xlink Kai. The versions newer than that do not work with PS2 at all. To get this version just go to the downloads section of Xlink Kai's website. "Then choose Xlink Kai: Evolution 7" and it should download version 7.3.1.7 Or you can click here to directly download it from their site ( http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/binary/XLinkKai-7.3.1.7-win32.msi )
If you want to find other PS2 online and PS2 LAN tunneling (with Xlink Kai) players, head over to:
http://www.ps2onlinegaming.com
It is a website created to aid in the scheduling of PS2 online and PS2 LAN tunneling (Xlink Kai) matches.
Also? What all is required, I don't have a very modern pc. It's about 5 years old, runs xp. It's all I can use because my ps3 isn't backwards compatible. I have the version of black that came with the new tm but since it isn't the online version I don't think tunneling will work will it? Realize these are novice questions. But I have no idea about this sort of thing.

@BreaktheClouds The 5 year old pc with XP is no problem and would work. You would need a ps2 copy of Twisted Metal Black Online to LAN tunnel the game over Xlink Kai. I doubt the version of TMB released with the new ps3 game contains the online portion of the game. If you find a LAN mode in it then perhaps it would work, but I dont have that version of the game myself. On ps2 the online portion of the game was on a separate disc from the single player portion.

I have XLink Kai set up and running on my computer. If I go into Twisted Metal Black online and host a LAN game, will everybody be able to see it that happens to be playing? Or do they need to be on your XLink friends list or whatever to be able to see it? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm new to this tunneling stuff.

@Arbiter9 You don't have to have someone added as a friend to join their game. You just both need to be in the same arena in xlink kai and you both need to be in the LAN mode of the game.
