@GailyDave We will use the water for our vegetable garden, fruit trees & drought tolerant ground cover. We have already been collecting H2O (using a 5 gal bucket) when we run the shower waiting for it to get hot, as well as washing machine rinse water for use in our toilet tank, cutting our water use by 25%. Our city (Oakland CA) has a subsidy program for hillside residents; so we are getting rain barrels @ about 75% off the retail price. We ordered six 65 gal barrels and two 200 gal barrels.
@victrolux Good on you - what will you use the water for?
Sadly the dog was being carefully watched by its four year old owner, we didn't stand a chance of leaving with him. Greyhounds are known for their plumbing expertise however, so you will be fine... All the best with your barrels!
@venturadog It may be possible, cleaning may be an issue but the plastic is food grade so there should not be a problem for the fish... You would need to keep an eye on the temperature as the tanks are relatively slim and the temp will change.
