Arguments in favor of scenic designation by Stephen DeVol

On June 1, 2009, the Big Park Regional Coordinating Council in Sedona held a public meeting where the pro and con views on the Sedona-Red Rock National Scenic Area designation was discussed. Here, then, in 5 segments was the presentation and rebuttal of the differing points of view. Presentations were made by Stephen DeVol, President of Keep Sedona Beautiful, Ron Volkman, a private citizen, Coconino National Forest District Ranger Heather Provencio, and by Bob Carabell, Administrative Vice President of Keep Sedona Beautiful. At trhe conclusion of the presentation, a vote was take to support the scenic designation. The vote was 21 for; 1 abstaining.
