This is a video of my old car, I took this shortly after getting the built motor back in. Towards the end of the video I shine a light in so you can see the turbo spinning, and watch how long it spins after I shut the motor off.

  • @davenow When I tune my rebuild, I'll try with and without the intake, but I don't have a velocity stack like that ;-)

  • @mbdulka Subaru motor with a 35R at 28PSI (even when built for it) is on borrowed time anyway I figured.

  • @mbdulka Boost response went through the roof compared to a 1 foot long 4" diameter intake pipe that was on it. I didnt do comparison dynos but other people report like 15 or so WHP at high rpm. It sounded INSANE though. Like when you are next to an old dump truck and the turbo is screaming as it pulls out, it was damn near that loud.

  • @davenow I have a Subi too ... but just seems ballsy ;-) See any gains with the filter off?

  • @mbdulka IT looks a lot riskier than it actually is. If you could see in there better, you would see that it would be virtually impossible for something to come up from the ground to that turbo. Subie engine compartments are VERY cramped and any open space is laced with wires and hoses and all the other stuff that makes them look so messy. Dust? Sure dust gets in, but dust gets burnt up and/or blown out the exh before it will do any damage

  • @davenow You run it like that, or have a screen for it? Rock get in there, it go boom!

  • @TheCity619 Its so you can fit a physically larger turbo. You can get a GT35R in a stock location, but to do it, they have to use smaller compressor and hot side housings, which arent as efficient, and werent actually designed for the Garret wheels, and a mismatched setup, while it will work, they never make the same power or have the same response, or carry as wide of a power curve, as a rotated setup in the correct housings.

  • @davenow you pretty much answered my question too.lol thanx (:

  • Whats the point of a rotated turbo ?

  • @drkmanracer302 I think it might be called "an engine".
