@mikelunz Way to completely ignore the topic at hand. Learn to obey the Cannons and Councils and then call yourself and Orthodox Christian. Until then, keep your mouth shut.
-
@AegeanKing Unfortunately, since you disagree with the fruits of the spirit, you have no business speaking on behalf of myself, nor any other Christian. Have the last word, but it will be in vain, as I am not going to read it. :) good day.
-
@mikelunz Third person accounts? The Protestant doctrine is well known and is not based on third person accounts. What is wrong with you? You are obviously misled so let me break it down for you as basic as possible. An Orthodox Christian, by definition, adheres to the Cannons and Ecumenical councils of the Church. If an Orthodox Christian DOES NOT adhere to the Cannons and the Councils than he is, by definition, NOT an Orthodox Christian. The Cannons are clear on the heterodox. Do the math.
-
@AegeanKing Are you saying that you hope he is not a Christian as he professed. Are you saying it is the dumbest thing you have ever heard to hope for that? Are you saying that it is the dumbest thing you have ever heard that we should not judge others? Are you saying that it is the dumbest thing you have ever heard that we can assume what others believe based on third person accounts? Are you saying that it is the dumbest thing in the world to conduct yourself as a Christian?
-
@mikelunz What? that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. The Orthodox ABSOLUTELY decide who is and who is not a heretic. The Cannons affirm that the Orthodox are FORBIDDEN to pray with the Heterodox. The Cannons also affirm that the Church is the body of Christ and those who are not a part of the body of Christ are by definition heretics. Protestants reject the Cannons, Episcopacy and most of the Ecumenical councils. You need to educate yourself about what the Orthodox Church believes.
-
@AegeanKing you are speaking in absolutes. In Eastern Orthodox, we hope that he is a Christian as he professed, and God knows if a man is truly a heretic. That is not the type of claim we should go around claiming in definite, especially if we had not ever spoken to that person individually about their views. That is not the way a Christian conducts themselves!
-
@choosing2lookeast Friend, protestants also believe in the trinity. They are also heretics. Maybe Seraphim was not a heretic but he certainly strayed into heresy.
-
@srpskiheroi Not so fast. There is grace in all churches which proclaim the gospel of Christ. However, Orthodoxy is the fullness of it all. Hence the reason I chose to cross over.
-
@AegeanKing I don't think having just a singular differing opinion makes one a heretic. Fr. Seraphim still believed in the Undivided Trinity and what was decided at the various Ecumenical councils.
-
Seraphime Rose taught literal toll houses. He is a heretic.
Your right!!! Orthodoxy is the true religion, and its the only denomination 2 hold on to the fullness of the faith. Catholics added, and Protestants subtracted!!!
