This is my 2nd video featuring Detroit's ghetto. It was filmed entirely in December 2006, last time I visited Detroit. I am originally from Detroit (suburbs) by the way, I lived there my whole life until I moved to Florida in 2004... so don't be the jackass that says I made a video of Detroit and don't know anything about the city.

Like ANY city, Detroit has it's good and bad areas... these are the bad areas. THAT IS THE POINT OF THIS VIDEO, to show the worst ares of Detroit. Every city has rundown neighborhoods, but no city I have ever seen or heard of in the US is as bad as Detroit, at least when it comes to the PHYSICAL DETERIORATION of the buildings and infrastructure that make up the CITY of Detroit.

I HAVE NO INTENTIONS TO FILM NICE AREAS OF DETROIT, so please, keep those comments to yourself. If YOU think that would actually make an interesting video, then do it yourself.

To all the people who keep saying "this ain't da ghetto, there ain't no people", there are people living RIGHT NEXT DOOR to these homes, and in some cases, IN THEM. Just because you don't see many people walking around, doesn't mean that they aren't there. It simply means I had enough common sense not to point a camera at people who already don't like me being there, let alone filming them!

How somebody that doesn't live in the city of Detroit is going to try and show you anything about the place? And what this person is not telling you this only a fraction of the city that they are showing, And by the way a ghetto is a community of ppl living together in poor conditions. The neighbor hoods your showing are abandoned. That doesn't mean ghetto, and if your not intersting in helping the situtation what's the point of these videos?

you are right... this is only a FRACTION of the city... the rest looks like this too. detroit is the opposite of most cities... most cities are generally nice throughout, or at least decent, and have a few bad areas. detroit, however, is almost all destroyed like you see in my videos. there are only small pockets of nice neighborhoods in detroit. i don't need to live there to be able to show people how bad it is. would you want to live there?

@camosilver Come on dude! You can't show a certain part of the city and say this is what the whole city looks like because your wrong and it doesn't, you haven't been throughout this whole city and I know you haven't. And F.Y.I I do live here so i would know a little better than you.

This is not small pockets man, you can go just about anywhere in Detroit and see this kind of thing. I never said that there weren't nice areas in Detroit, I'm just saying that what you see in my videos can be seen on like 70% of the city blocks in Detroit. It's not like there's just ONE bad area of Detroit and I went to that ONE neighborhood and was able to make 4 10 minute videos.

we all know the technical term for ghetto, but in modern times, it can also just mean a shitty area. it's called slang. the point of the videos? just the fact that something like this exists anywhere in the united states in CRAZY, that is the point. and just because i filmed it doesn't mean i am obligated to launch some sort of humanitarian effort.

According to census dot gov, Detroit is currently 82.4% black. The higher the percentage of blacks in any given area, the more unbelievable the blight, destruction, and crime will be. Sorry, ... just tellin' it like it is. :-P

@groofoot It's actually a true fact that the state of Detroit is in fact the blacks fault. ALL of Detroit was a beautiful thriving city until the blacks demanded equality in the 60's, which was fine, but in detroit instead of coexisting they rioted and ran the whites out who were responsible for the business and strong economics of the city, they sat back, formed gangs, sold drugs and 80% of the city fell apart.

Although i do believe that since the government of the United States, and the government of Detroit are doing an absolutely miserable job of tearing down these vacant structures. The residents of Detroit should not be required to live with such Eyesores and be allowed to take things into their own hands.

Detroit should learn from NYC when it comes to Urban Decay. See South Bronx, and Broken Window theory.

@zombiegenocider666 I am not even Black but this is the truth. A simple unbiased look at Detroit, and African American history - can explain its current situation. African Americans, for a multitude of reasons, many not their own doing, have yet to amount any substantial wealth. The White people in Detroit basically were its financial backbone - and once Poor Black people came to Detroit for some work. The White people left Detroit - leaving their homes to rot en masse and taking all wealth.

People say "the blacks destroyed this city" the truth is the whites destroyed this city, by leaving its dead carcass for the maggots to nibble on. the next time some white trash or black trash move into your neighborhood... don't be afraid and move. Let them get arrested or kicked out for using all there wellfare money on crack/weed instead of bills, their bridge card for KFC instead of healthy food for their children & there kids taken away to a better life by CPS but don't ever move in fear

@camosilver I will admit Detroit does need to step it's game up, however the rest of the city neighborhoods Do Not look like what you are showing in this video.Have you been all over this city? Do you have any idea howbig the city really is? You are only showing a small pockets of the city. And by the way I do live here, so who you think you getting pass?
