Who would come to some of the most neglected refugee camps on Earth, and volunteer to teach, and bring smiles to children's faces? Shot on location in Nablus, Palestine, we tell the story of the volunteers who are at the center of Project Hope. During the filming, the City Hall in Nablus was attacked again, jets flew overhead on their way to bomb Lebanon, and the carnage in Gaza continued. In the face of these obstacles, our local and international volunteers continued their work, bringing Nablus and to the camps their message of hope.

  • who makes the Sadam toys? I wonder if it's made in China? I recognise the tune from diffent toys made in China sold here in New Zealand at REALLY cheap prices. It pisses me off because they also make fold-up pocket knives with 6 inch blades and flashing lights on the handle with the same music. The manufacturers are irresponsible and are only out to make a quick buck.

  • Yeah, the Saddam toys are definitely made in China. The box they came in says "Lovely Enfant" on them. English? French? Who knows!

When I went to the shop in Nablus to buy two, the shopkeeper asked "Why do you internationals like the Saddam dolls so much?" It's hard to describe the mixture of pop culture and gallows humor that overtakes an Angelino like myself in Palestine under occupation...

  • I'm glad i have a better understanding of what's going on over there. I sympathise with the Palestinian ppl. Unfortunately they had to go to extremes for the world to take notice. Sadly they are misunderstood as the being the bad guys.
