Inspired by Andy Warhols Screen Tests and Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips 13 Most Beautiful . . ., the Walker Art Center Teen Arts Council (WACTAC) created 13 original films and commissioned young musicians to compose accompanying soundtracks. Join us for the resulting collaboration—a raucous night of live performance and film. Musical performances by Nakami Green, Daudi Long, MMMs, Henry Misa, Dylan Perese, Jon Mitchell and Denis Terzic, and Shallow Creek.

  • amazing one hr and 5... asome!

  • @Psychoscopic Reread what I said -I never said anything against making art, music or self-portraits . I am talking about dumbing down culture to indulge students in their narcissism It is harmful to indoctrinate kids into a fast food cultural philosophy of instant gratification & no quality. It is irresponsible to teach kids a dumbed down cultural fascism that does not teach them how to think creatively but rather indulges that whatever shallow concept they come up with is so "special".

  • Wow most of you guys are pricks in these comments!

As for the video, I havn't watched it all but the bit from about 13:10 to 23:25 was great, beautiful but somewhat haunting.

  • @kerouac69 Good thing there are people like you Kerouac 69, who live in the REAL WORLD and spend their time trolling youtube for harmless student-made art projects to attack. Really though, your baseless generalizations of our generation only paint you as ignorant, and your vitriolic comments about others' art prove you to be a real asshole. If we are, as you suggest, to be remembered by our actions on youtube, I'd much rather be remembered as an amateur artist than a faceless ignoramus.

  • @Starwheel6 This presentation was put on by local high school students. They don't claim to be visionaries. Why would you respond so negatively to kids making art? Why is it narcissistic to perform music? Or if the claim of narcissism is in reference to the faces on the screen, would you consider it narcissistic to, for instance, paint a self-portrait? I simply don't understand your attacks on what is nothing more than a group of kids making art together. Your negativity is harmful and pointless

  • a video inspired by warhol's blowjob movie would have been more interesting lol

  • Shallow and stupid to the nth degree.

We artists of the 21st century will not abide your fast food cultural philosophy.

We demand timeless quality that reboots the cultural paradigm.

Your narcissism is hideous and laughable.

  • Shouldn't these students be learning something other than this? See, this is the result of the spoiled Barney the Dinosaur generation: everyone is special and everyone loves me. Oh well, wait til the REAL WORLD hits you in the ass and you discover that you're nothing but an old YouTube video of little redeeming quality. Grow up!

  • they should be studying for math instead of wasting time like that on junk!

    jk

  • This was an awesome event by WACTAC -- the new commissioned music really brought the 3-minute videos to life!
