  • Kwaichi I agree with Kroaky - go for the summer solstice but travel down a day or two before to avoid crowds. a bus takes you from salisbury bus station to stonehenge instead of using the car. the buses begin about 7pm and run through the evening. you can go into the stones, music, drumming, pagans and druids are there, hot food, coffee etc and in morning morris dancing. better experience than you had I think!

  • I might make myself busy during the summer solstice elsewhere :)

  • They must've come down on a weekend judging by how long it took them, the A303 is always packed on a weekend. An for the amount of money you pay, the visitor facilities are dire. You're best off just looking at it through the fence for free.

  • you are absolutely totally right about everything!

  • I have sat in the middle and touched the stones :-D

  • How did you manage that?

  • @kwaichi

you should travel to malvern and make a new vid on the malvern hills and malvern water, thats a very good tourist attraction :)

  • I went last year and it was 46, 000 estimated people! I arrived there around 7pm and it was quiet and a time of peace to hug and enjoy the stones! I stayed until 6am and I loved it too!!!

  • Every summer solstice they allow people into the stones. you go the night before at about 9pm and stay thru the night until morning!

Last time i went there was 20,000 people there, it was amazing!
