An experimental film exploring ways to bring the work of cartoonist Ray Lowry
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Lowry) to life in moving pictures. This machinima features a citiscape recreated in the exact style of his early illustration work, as a device to travel between locations and hence create settings for two examples of his later cartoon work. One of Lowry's themes was urban decay and decline, so I tried to bring this out in the city soundscape, looping it (i.e repeating the entire video) once to emphasise the impression of hell that I believe he saw in our contemporary urban sprawl.
Following a period of griefing by all manner of bizarre weirdo's who claimed to know Ray and what he thought, felt and wanted, I had to close off all comments to this video. I am tentatively re-opening them now subject to vetting - a shame since it's clear from his work that one thing he did feel was an opposition to censorship.
