I think the whole debate is ridiculous. Many of these fantasy novels show good triumphing over evil. What does it matter that the hero is a wizard or some other magical being. Its the symbolism that counts. In most cases we see the hero of the story sacrifice themselves to save the day. Does the name 'Jesus' spring to mind when you hear this? The authors are just taking some old ideas/stories and making them more appealing for the children today.
Anyway, good with finding a job FIRESTORM

To be fair, Harry Potter books make me want to shoot people.
What?! Im a christian and LOVE hp, I have no problem what so ever. I mean, its fantasy isn't it? Fantasy meaning NOT REAL so there should not be a problem. And if there is, then why not ban twilight or anything else of that nature, they're not exactly pro-christian either. I think people are going over-board on this.

having Christianity point the finger at magic is just irony. Jesus was supposed to have walked on water, fed 5000 people with a loaf of bread and a fish. HE IS SUPPOSED TO RETURN FROM THE DEAD.
If you look at the comparisons with a cold seance of objectivity, "religion" is no more or less "magic" than anything else.
I think the real question here is "why is question religion wrong?", and challenging our selective blindness to it.
