The 14 July Revolution was a coup which took place on 14 July 1958 in Iraq, marking the overthrow of the Hashemite monarchy established by King Faisal I in 1932 under the auspices of the British. In 1958, the coup overthrew King Faisal II, the regent and Crown Prince 'Abd al-Ilah, and Prime Minister Nuri al-Said, all of whom were perceived as minions of the British.

I can't take it in that such a young king of this charisma and international political calibre was massacred with his family and faced the most brutal death at the hand of his people who he loved, trusted and was willing to give even more should he had the chance. Ba'athists, communists and liberals were all the same and equally guilty of a brutal murder. Qassim was a total idiot who trusted the gangsters who lured him to do the most daft thing that started our continued misery till this moment
