Thats them evil european jews

Exactly, Mark! Thanks for my over-sight and yes, you are correct--more like MILLIONS these "leaders" are getting paid to RUN companies into the ground. Yet, scared as fucc as a black man at the helm MAY do a "competent" job. Ain't THAT a bitch? lol....shaking my head. Poor Obama, he's got his work cut out for him. He won't be judged on TRYING to clean up Bush's chit, he WILL be judged as a BLACK man.

IDK about that....seems to me that those japanese automatic cars last quite a while..
-
that's a good point brother....i've always wondered why auto unions can work in europe and japan but not here???
-
This is why I'll never buy an American car anymore. They're not reliable like they use to be. I'd rather buy an old beat-up 90' Honda Civic than a 2010 vehicle that'll probably blow a gasket at 60,000 miles.

Gm engineered to fail? lol. All automatics are engineered to fail. This is why the government is trying to get rid of manuals, because they last longer ( If you know how to drive it of course. )
GM's failure wasn't necessarily wagoner. their business model existed before him and it involved six figure salaries for union men. The unions destroyed GM.

@Averyofthemain. Right-wing idiocy and nonsense. I guess you didn't know Japan and Germany and France have unions as well. America's unions are the ONLY reason we have a middle class today. But I guess you also think ceo's deserve a better wage than you simply because....they do.
It is the CEO and ONLY the ceo's job to ensure the company is making a top quality product. Japan and Germany did that. America's ceo's don't. They depend on weak minded people to blame unions instead of the "leaders".

@theblackauth0rity It's basic economics. When poor performance cannot be punished there is no incentive to excel, the union rules made firing or demotion for poor performance cost-prohibitive, and to pay the inflated salaries prices had to go up. Hence, A crappier product for an inflated price equals financial ruin.

@Averyofthemain It is the ceo's job to insure the company is making a good car....not the union.
The companies are not profitable because people don't like their shoddy product. Even paying Mexican labor hasn't made up for that shortfall.
I notice you didn't say anything about Japanese or German car company unions. And their benefits are FAR more generous than America's.
Why is it unions are not a problem for Japanese or German car companies? Until you answer that you have nothing to say.

@theblackauth0rity Not according to UAW rules, quality control is a Union post, but not in Japan and not in germany, you fallaciously stated that Japanese and German unions were more generous, really? The average union worker in Japan makes 2200 a month but can negotiate individually for good performance, not here. UAW also says that grass cutters are the same as line workers...they aren't, and yet they're paid the same.

@Averyofthemain If the CEO approves producing a faulty car all the line worker can do is assure it is assembled properly. He has no say in the engineering process. Please look up a definition of "quality control"---No where does it say "design control".
GM and Ford sell fewer cars today because they have sold a faulty product and customers abandoned them. The result was bankruptcy. That has NOTHING to do with with the workers. The problem at GM was the ceo's/con artists. Period.
