It's interesting but it's clear that Balintawak is very different from Modern styles of Arnis. It's more of action-reaction. The close range attacking style simulates a very fast and close range fight. The reason why people criticize the art is because they're not used to seeing it. It's quite helpful for the reflexes though. It has its advantages.

@junmarapao Actually we are already used to these kind of bashing. But you really can't blame them because that is the extent of their knowledge. I guess the saying is true "Ignorance is bliss." Only when they try and play with us that they realize, that there is in fact a major difference in how we train. Sir Bob always reminded us to be patient and be humble. For most people dont realize how humility can become your finest weapon in combat. All warfare is based on deception.
