As a bonus to my recent material from Model Rail Scotland 2010: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=173AFEC7E42000AD , I am pleased to present a special feature on one of the layouts featured at this year's show.
This is Old Blarney, an Irish themed 00 scale layout owned by the Perth & District Model Railway Club. The fictitious location (set somewhere in the middle of Ireland) is modelled in a period between the 1940's and the present. Scenic features include a racecourse, a fox-hunting party and a traffic jam near the town.
The stock consists of locos and units based on those active with GNR(I), NIR, GSR, CIE, Irish Rail etc; The orange and black DMU is a near representation of the GNR(I) 600-619 class, while the green DMU is a kit-bashed, near representation of the CIE 6000-6059 class. Diesel loco haulage is also on show, with CIE diesel A46 on a passenger service being an example.
As well as footage, some photographs have been included as well - some can be found at http://www.davidhennesseystrainworld.fotopic.net/c1820186.html
Thanks go to the Perth and District Model Railway Club for permission to have their excellent work recorded for this video.
@modelshopbelfast Yeah I will admit the lighting in the hall at the SECC isn't quite perfect, but sadly you can't always win them all. Anyway, it was great to see this layout in attendance, and I hope it will make a return in the not too distant future. Cheers for commenting!

Had a great weekend driving on Old Blarney with David and the Perth Crew, the lighting in the hall doesnt do the layout justice
