In this 2009 documentary short, filmmaker Matt McUsic explores what makes Shen's work original and uniquely personal. Describing his work as "Emotional Landscapes", Byron candidly discusses both his technical aesthetic as well as his underlying influences. Shen breaks down the importance of abstract art in creating an ever-evolving dialogue with the viewer. His artistic journey is one that is deeply tied to his life journey; ever searching, ever approaching a distant horizon that may never be reached.
