  • Yes - exactly. That is because those intervals you mentioned -- 3rds and 5ths -- are the intervals that chords are composed from. A triad is a stack of 3rds and 5ths, and most other chords (except 4th formations) are also. Good observations!

  • I am a self taught guitarist.. and the first thing i studied was a certain artists "intervals". I noticed he used the interval A-C, F#-A, and that amount of space between notes in every song almost.

    I also noticed it is part of a harmonic chord through reading. It this the dominant interval?

    Also I would like to add that i noticed folk songs use perfect intervals like f-c,a-e so forth.
