Well, since the anesthesia from the carpal tunnel release surgery was still pretty much in effect (see associated vid, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwDfzpY7iTM) -- and since this locking ring finger has been giving me problems as much as the carpal tunnel median nerve compression symptoms -- I thought "might as well go ahead and release it before I start to feel the pain." As you'll see from the latter part of the vid, the proximal part of the flexor tendon complex clearly shows degenerative changes -- hence, that tendon nodulation that jams & locks into the metacarpo-phalangeal flexor tendon housing (otherwise known as the A1 pulley cavity).
damn dude you're tough even if you've got numbing which I am sure you did, but I just got this surgery on my thumb and I made sure I fell asleep, with you doing your own surgery your not only unsedated but your making the incisions!

it hurt a bit the first day following the carpal tunnel release & trigger finger release surgeries. by the 3rd post-operative day, the pain had gone down considerably.
