Here's my contribution to a no-longer-relevant internet meme. I discovered I that if I point the camera at my computer monitor while it's hooked up to the video-out on my camera, interesting stuff happens.
Enjoy the trippy results.
I made this video last year, right after I got my new Canon XH-A1 camera and 24" monitor. However, I wasn't completely happy with it and didn't think it was "worthy" of a post on the FutureLight channel because the techniques weren't fully developed. Now, some time later, I don't care anymore, so I've decided to post it with the caveat that it's an "experiment" for your enjoyment (or time wasting).

How did I do it? Basically, I'm pointing my camera at a screen that's showing what my camera is seeing, so it's kind of like a "hall of mirrors" effect. However, unlike a mirror, there's a slight time delay between when I do an action, and when that motion is processed by the camera and displayed by the monitor. This delay creates a kind of "visual echo" effect.
Glad you liked it!
