This is Erasmo Carlos, godfather of brazilian rock and roll.
In this exquisit track, from the album "Projeto Salvaterra 1990" (Earthsaving Project 1990) first printed in 1974, we appreciate a delicious mixture of Psychedelic Rock and Samba.

I'm quite sure Erasmo will not be forgotten, but this album in particular, highly experimental in compairsom to the others, happend to be a forgotten classic.

In short: It's a happy tune but a rather sad story. João (John) partipated in the Brazilian carneval, danced in the streets, drank far too much, vasted all his money just for these few days of festivities. He kept on dancing, finally he tumbled, fell down (passed out) and was stepped on by the dancers. So he died of samba, cachaça and folly. =)
