In this video I install Fedora 16 in Virtualbox. After the installation in update the OS by running the "yum update" command. I install a few required applications with the "yum install make gcc kernel-devel dkms" command. I then install the guest additons form Virtualbox and then to fix the SELinux problem I used the "restorecon -R -v /opt" command. I needed to restart the OS before I installed the guest additions so I installed them twice in the video. After the last reboot I had to hold down the right contol key + delete to force a log out, but then was able to log in with Gnome 3 working.

    thx.

  • Can anyone help me fix my problem. No matter what i do and how many times i try the "Building Guest additions module" Always fails. Just like it did for him the first time. I followed step by step and retried many times. I can't seem to fix it.

  • Guys.. if u continue having problems.. just go the terminal with fedora 16 "3.2".. and write "reboot" ... maybe it help you

thanks for this great tutorial =)

  • When I went to install Fedora 16 on my hard drive from Virtaulbox, it said that there was data on the disk and asking if I want to write over it. I did it on the same drive that I have my Win 7 install on. Is this common? Will it write over any of my Windows data or does VirtualBox keep that from happening? Excellent tutorial btw!

  • awesome tutorial, really helped me out
