What gets me is how the deck managed to stay intact while the house was destroyed.

Well, I went and checked this out for myself and it was truly an awesome site. Some of the trees 3-5' in diameter completely uprooted and I would assume the weight of those trunks being 1-3 tons, truly amazing to see.

@98zjjeep Thanks for the comments on the video. I think what you are saying is that video/pictures never truly give you the emotional 'damage' it gives to a community as a whole, or each person individually. This was a rather new community too (some homes don't even show up on google's satellite view (which are aerial photographs). The human impact is always significant, and is the most important element when telling the story of severe weather and tornadoes.

Nice footage. Didn't know i was gonna make my first you tube video appearance in that manner. Great job on the video guys. Stay safe out there!
great documentation, but couldn't you put your copyright warning in the corner? It's very distracting and annoying to have to look at while trying to watch the video. Otherwise, excellent video and thanks for posting.

@femmedeterra Unfortunately theft of video is rampant, both from individuals to mainstream media. I hate, hate, hate it too, but it's necessary because news outlets and others have gotten creative about covering up the corners and such where watermarks exist and then either broadcast without payment, or claim as their own (individuals mostly). It cost me thousands to travel and capture these images (among other things) and I have to protect my business. YT allows too much stealing too.

Great footage guys. The Funnel Cloud VIDEO is nice too. I'm a news photojournalist and I often chase storms but you guys do it right. I've never seen a tornado in person...yet. I was watching this storm from afar via RADAR because my sister lives ONE MILE from the Andy's Restaurant that was destroyed. A little close for comfort. I knew for 30 minutes that area may be in big trouble!

@chris8video Wow...that was close. Sounds like she was OK. I have my fingers crossed for the people at this location. It is very sobering when you happen across these situations. We don't seek it out, this just happen to be along the road we were on tracking the tornado.
Thanks for the kind comments.
