yes because pregnancy is an infectious disease. no need to sterilize and inject and poke and prod and traumatize the poor child and mother.

@atmmachine umm.. nurse huh?... the white stuff, is vernix, and is actually good for their skin and beneficial to stay on the skin as long as possible... stimulating the baby to cry?? wrong again.. once they have cleared the nose & throat, they dont "have" to stimulate anything..

i had a c section with my 3rd but i had to be put to sleep bc he was cutn his cord of with means he wasnt abke to breath and i was so scared when they told me i had to be put to sleep and have a c section bc my other 2 i had them natural and no meds and shit so yea its the best thing n the world and the scarist all at the same tym its great

They have to get them cleaned off quickly because they are covered in white goop and they need to assess their color quickly. They must suction the nares and throat out quickly so the baby does not aspirate and end up in nicu. Pluse they have to stimlate the baby to cry...which helps clear those secretions decreasing again, the chance of aspiration into the lungs....when they tip the baby over for a sec you can see her back...covered it all what I was saying.
