Here's a stupid simple way of how to embed YouTube into a PowerPoint 2007 presentation.

Make sure your school or workplace has a live Internet connection and does not block YouTube.

Stupid Simple tutorials are a new series of videos by InfiNemesis meant to be quick, funny, and most of all, stupid simple!

Enjoy!

  • It works when I first do it, but when I close powerpoint and open it again, my video doesn't work. Help?

  • @fiendishing Do you just get a white screen when you run the slideshow? Make sure you have the right URL. The old style (not the youtu.be style). On Youtube, click on "Share", then click on "options" under the URL box that comes up, then check the "Long link" box. Check your Shockwave object properties box on powerpoint again to make sure they saved.

  • i have a problem! it doesn't work for some reason. i keep getting a white screen. what do i do? please help!

  • @50panthergirl That usually indicates that the URL may be incorrect. Double check it. When you click on "Share" on Youtube to get the URL, make sure it's the old style (not the youtu.be style). On Youtube, click on "Share", then click on "options" under the URL box that comes up, then check the "Long link" box. Also make sure you're online when you run your presentation and that the URL is in the "Movie" field, not "Movie Data".

  • When I try to draw the box to put the url in, the arrow doesn't turn into the "+". What and How do I make the damn box?!

  • @fanofanime7 Make sure it's a blank slide. Sometimes, it may not turn into a plus sign if there are things like text or other pictures on the slide.

  • I have the right Url long link box and everything and for some reason I am still getting a white box with no video please help

  • @infinemesis OMG thank you!

  • @JoaquinTall Try this: Open the More Controls box again and click on the "Register Custom" button. The browse to C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash. In there should be a file called "Flash10I.ocx" or similar name. Click that file, click Open, then click OK. That should manually register your Flash object with Powerpoint. Then restart Powerpoint and see if "Shockwave Flash Object" now appears.
