A fun clip of an approach and 2 landings in a light sport aircraft, Thorp T-211, to Cushing Field (K0C8) in IL. Music by Bob Stroud in Rockestra - Switchin' to Glide - from the Loop Family Album. I love this airplane.
Thanks so much for this vid. Happy memories for me. I learnt to fly at Cushing back in 1995. What's the status of the place these days. Mostly Ultralights now isn't it. I flew the Cessnas there and had an engine failure in 133CF on my second solo cross country! It was a good evening sponsored by Uncle Jack at Codys bar that night when I was retrieved from Mineral Point! Would love to pay a visit there again. Ross UK
Great video. Great flying plane! 7Day-807CF is presently out of commision. A couple of years ago I swapped in a new engine (old one dropped a valve, broke the piston, etc). The day after Bud & I broke in the new engine, a renter fast taxi'd it into a pick up. 805 & 806 are presently hangared. 806 has fresh top'd engine, ready to fly. 805 awaits engine install. Are you still w/Contact? GD-Training at Cushing can be a riot. 102Kts-hope you're still flying at 0C8!

I was excited to find your vids flying the Thorp out of Cushing Field. Me and that little plane (807) have an uncommon history together. Treat her good, and she enjoys being tossed about a bit so don't be shy around her either. Keep that plane happy until I can get back there again to fly her. 807 is a good number!

Curious how your experience at Cushing was with training in the T211. I live close and am ready to make a move soon. Thanks.
