India Denim Day 2008 - HIV and AIDS Awareness Sessions in Industry

Awareness sessions were conducted at various fabric and garment manufacturing units between 10 Nov. - 30 Nov. 2008 as part of the run-up campaign to India Denim Day, 2008 for promoting HIV and AIDS awareness.


Sessions were conducted with women workers of Rashi Wears Pvt. Ltd., men workers and executives of Sarla Fabrics, Ghaziabad, workers and executives of Bhaskar Industries Ltd., Mandideep, workers of Benu Textiles, Amritsar and Leela Dyeing, Amritsar.


During the sessions, the participants were provided with factual information on modes of transmission of HIV. The participants were also sensitised on the need to support People Living with HIV and understand the being HIV positive is not a deterrent to work.
