I think you are correct. Of course, I never listen to youtube without headphones, but even those can't come close to how a live production would sound. Heard my brother's senior trombone recital in 1974. quite something to hear in performance.

Please firgive my ignorance, but what is a euphonium? That recording sounded a lot like a trombone to me, an admitted novice among classical instruments and a guy with poor hearing in the bargain. I grew up loving the sound of my brother's trombone, but I never played anything but keyboard instruments with even a modicum of success.

@musicmandon1 a euphonium in a nutshell is a tenor tuba. It does play in the same range as the trombone thus the similarities in sound. However, the euphonium's tubing is conical, giving it a more mello sound than a trombone. A trombone tends to be more bright sounding due to its cylindrical shaped tubing. I think you would have to hear it live to really hear the difference.
