Gilden's curiosity about strong characters and individual peculiarities has been present from the beginning of his career. Gilden has also worked in New Orleans, Haiti, and Japan. He is a member of the Magnum photography agency. He likes to work close, and he gets closer the older he gets.

  • @pietromalac If you run into this guy and want to get back at him, smile when he takes your picture.

  • He's great at getting pictures of people going "What the fuck?"

You can get the same result from people watching Two Girls One Cup for the first time and then taking a few minutes to photograph some people.

Some nice pictures in the video, largely no.

  • Another photographer giving Street Photogrpahy a bad name.

  • Interesting, I liked the pics but I think his method of taking pics from stranges is not the most appropiate thing to do. He just takes pics not even asking the people if he can do it. Of course you can't get this kind of pics if you ask, but... I don't think I would appreciate it. I wouldn't do it.

  • The guy's an obnoxious jerk.

  • He's yawnerrific. I keep expecting someone to shoot him, which, frankly, wouldn't be a surprise.

  • I don't enjoy his work at all.

  • google some of his old stuff. He's good.

  • his images arent all that impressive... I am confused here

  • Maybe you´re right... Maybe you´re not. I am a Kung Fu Master :-) Quite Fast!!!

I just see street photography in a different perspective. There´s a lot of great street photographers that can be very good without the use of this stupid approach, and then the photography itself it´s not pure and true if you think of her as a document because the reactions are instigated by him instead of simply captured. I want no fights, photography is a huge building with rooms to everybody.
