  • V.R. is not only a cop out but with also comes the possible matrix or terminator scenario. You can say that is not practical but when you look at how dependent we already are on computers as a society with the growth of A.I. V.R. is a possible submission to slavery in trade for an illusion. Reality sounds better to me then an illusion.

  • Yea in virtual reality you could do anything. BUT ITS A SIMULATED REALITY NOT REALITY ITSELF. You say that there is no practical approach in Transhumanism because we lack the technology to do so yet you seem to neglect the fact of how rapidly technology has progressed in the past 50 years alone. Right now it is impractical because of technology we currently have but in time it will become a reality because technology will progress to allow us to become transhuman.

  • If I had to live without experiencing the feeling of love, joy, taste, touch...what is the point? If anything, the integration between the logical world and the creative world, via perception...that would be better in my opinion. I like being human, I don't want to be a borg, I would rather not exist if that is going to be the case.

  • @MassacreBlast

    Ray Kurzweil.

  • 2029 the computer will be smarter than us? And you came to this exact year how? Haha. Anyway....

  • all your naysayers sound like fags

  • you are great

  • come on dude, have a coffee, I wanna see more kickass!! esp for these dumb fucking twots!!

  • @Yamikaiba123 Thing is, the main character is an anti-social emo in depression with little self-worth. His character would love a world where everything came easy- but the evolution of his character and the main conflict of the story is his willingness to open up to others and appreciate himself more rather than shut himself away. (All with a backdrop of human biosoldiers fighting angels over the right to inherit the future of the world, which is connected, but also provides the series' action.)

  • Hmm, heheh I guess we are going to where I suspected when you used the term "Instrumentality". There goes the example I gave again when we were talking about that anime series. The author was making a criticism of his contemporary anime addicts when they retreat to a false world away from society by making it. In the story there was this thing called the "Human Instrumentality Project" that these Illuminati types were trying to push. The main character gets into the middle of all of it.
