  • That's true, there aren't, but the lick isn't a complete whole tone scale. It alternates in 4ths by whole steps.

  • If you don't already own the Nicolas Slonimsky Thesaurus of Scales and Melodic Patterns, you should get it. You're going in that direction and trust me, you'll love it.

  • It's not whole tone! it is just four note groupings transposed. It's in loads of Coltrane, Brecker etc

  • ummm.. there arent any p4th intervals in the whole tone scale.. only aug or maj3rd intervals? am i missing something?
