How to Put Explosions and Other Effects on a Video with Sony Vegas

This technique can be used with other media formats other than just .MOV.

Tutorial In Seconds: It may help to watch how the technique is executed.

Step 1: Import Effect and Video.
Step 2: Add Video to the Timeline.
Step 3: Add a new Video Track above the one you already placed.
Step 4: Go to Video Effects for the Effect sample.
Step 5: Click on Chroma Keyer
Step 6: Toggle the colors until it fits where you want it.
Step 7 (Optional): Open up the Event Pan Crop. Move the effect where you would like it to be.

then save file to where you want then right click the file click extract then click the folder :)

When I open the Explosion file it just says format file could not be initialized.

@DarkWaffle56 Thanks captain obvious. You're obviously stupid if you don't think so, but this is a SONY VEGAS video -- not an After Effects video. They aren't the same thing, so please keep the two topics separated. Idiot.

Sorry about the explosions guys. Sony Vegas doesn't really support .mov. Use a converter to convert the .mov into a working format (.avi, .wmv, etc.)

in my sony vegas 8 i havn't media generators.. i have delted it.. and now ho to "put" them in "Track View" (The box where are "Expoler" , "Project Media" , "Transitions" , "Video FX" ) ? Write me a messange ^.^
